Internationally Recognized Security Expert, Richard Clarke, and Former CEO of Fieldglass, Jai Shekhawat, join BlueCat Board of Directors

TORONTO, ON – September 12, 2017 – BlueCat, the leading provider of Adaptive DNS, announced two key appointments to its Board of Directors, Richard (Dick) Clarke and Jai Shekhawat. The addition of Mr. Clarke and Mr. Shekhawat boosts the company’s entry into the cyber security market, which was marked earlier this year by the launch of BlueCat DNS EdgeTM, its flagship security product.

As the leader in Adaptive DNS, BlueCat enables the world’s top brands to manage and scale complex IT networks across global enterprises. Now, with BlueCat DNS EdgeTM, it is using its expertise in DNS data to help cyber security teams identify, assess and block insider threats including internal bad actors, compromised Internet of Things devices and lateral movement of malware on corporate networks.

Chairman and CEO Michael Harris welcomed both new board members at the recent Board of Directors meeting. “As our company moves into the cyber security market, we are pleased to have the caliber of expertise and know-how that both Dick and Jai bring to BlueCat. Dick’s deep experience in matters of security and strategy will play a key role in focusing us on the right opportunities and Jai will bring a disciplined approach to help BlueCat scale its growth from his amazing accomplishments at Fieldglass.”

About BlueCat’s new board members:

Richard Clarke served three consecutive Presidents through an unprecedented ten continuous years as a White House official, including as Special Advisor to the President on Cyberspace, Special Assistant to the President for Global Affairs, and National Coordinator for Security and Counterterrorism. He is the founder of Good Harbor, a trusted advisory firm specializing in cyber security risk management, and the author of eight books, including the national number one best-seller Against All Enemies and the recently released Warnings. Mr. Clarke has taught at Harvard’s Kennedy School and is an on-air consultant for ABC News on cyber security, counterterrorism, and national security.

Jai Shekhawat

Jai Shekhawat is a proven entrepreneur and effective manager of high growth software businesses. For 15 years, Mr. Shekhawat was the founder and CEO of Fieldglass, the world’s most widely used Cloud platform for the procurement of contract labor and services, until it was sold to SAP for more than $1B in 2014. The firm grew rapidly following a 2010 investment by Madison Dearborn Partners. At the time of sale, Fieldglass had offices in the US, UK, Australia and India and its SaaS platform was being used in more than 100 countries in 30 languages.
